As fans eagerly await its opening day, the movie's early success highlights its strong demand and the star power of its lead actors. Stay tuned for live updates on the release, reviews, and box-office performance as Kanguva gears up for what promises to be a blockbuster opening.
Kanguva, the highly anticipated film starring Suriya and Bobby Deol, is off to an incredible start even before its official release. With advance bookings already crossing ₹5 crore, the film is generating massive buzz.
Kanguva, the much-awaited fantasy action film directed by Siva, is finally hitting the screens, and the buzz around it is reaching a fever pitch. Starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, this epic marks a significant moment in Indian cinema. For Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, Kanguva is their debut in the Tamil film industry, while Suriya returns in a lead role after his 2022 release Etharkkum Thunindhavan.
As the film prepares for its global release on Thursday, audiences are eagerly anticipating the first-day, first-show (FDFS) screenings in both 2D and 3D formats. With high expectations surrounding the movie’s scale, action sequences, and star-studded cast, it is set to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year. Follow this space for live updates, reviews, and ratings as the film makes its theatrical debut.
Kanguva holds significant weight for director Siva, marking his first collaboration with Suriya after a less-than-successful run with his previous film, Annaatthe (2021), which struggled to make an impact at the box office. Known for his successful partnerships with actor “Thala” Ajith in films like Veeram (2014), Vedalam (2015), Vivegam (2017), and Viswasam (2019), Siva is hoping for a strong comeback with this high-budget fantasy actioner. Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva features cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and a soundtrack composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film also carries an emotional weight, as its editor, Nishadh Yusuf, tragically passed away on October 30, just days before the film’s release, adding a poignant layer to its debut.
Ahead of its official release, Kanguva is already generating massive excitement with pre-release sales hitting ₹5.56 crore in India by Wednesday afternoon, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. The Tamil versions in 3D and 2D have contributed significantly, bringing in ₹3.24 crore from over 1.6 lakh tickets across 3,105 shows and ₹80 lakh from 45,083 tickets across 1,187 shows, respectively.
With such strong early numbers, the big question is whether Kanguva, led by Suriya, can replicate the opening-day success of other massive Tamil blockbusters like Leo, which set a benchmark with ₹148.5 crore. As the film gears up for its release, all eyes are on its potential to shatter records and join the elite league of Vijay and Rajinikanth’s cinematic milestones.
Ahead of its release, Kanguva has received a significant boost from the Tamil Nadu government, which has approved additional screenings to accommodate the film’s massive fanbase. The fantasy action film will feature a special 9 am show and a fifth late-night show that concludes at 2 am.
In a move that mirrors recent Tamil blockbusters like Leo and GOAT, Kanguva will also have an early 4 am first-day screening in states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. This shift marks a return to early morning shows after the Tamil Nadu government had paused the practice following an incident during the 2023 Pongal releases. With these extended showtimes, Kanguva is set to create an electrifying atmosphere as it gears up for a highly anticipated opening.
