India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has arrived in Philadelphia for a three-day U.S. visit marking the beginning of his three-day visit to the United States. He will participate in the sixth Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware and address a significant U.N. meeting.

Meanwhile, a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators and members of the House of Representatives are preparing for discussions aimed at strengthening U.S.-India relations during this pivotal visit.

Modi Connects with Indian Diaspora in Philadelphia, Celebrating Their Achievements

Modi’s arrival in Philadelphia was marked by an enthusiastic interaction with the Indian diaspora waiting outside the airport. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight their impressive achievements and the positive influence they’ve had in various sectors throughout the U.S.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his U.S. visit by attending the Quad Leaders’ Summit, hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden. The summit will also include Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
• The leaders will take stock of the Quad’s achievements over the past year and chart a course for future collaboration, particularly aimed at helping the Indo-Pacific region fulfill its development ambitions.

September 22

• Prime Minister Modi will address the Indian community the next day, marking his third major speech in the U.S. after Madison Square Garden in 2014 and SAP Center in 2015. This event is anticipated to be his largest yet, with over 50,000 attendees expected.
• Highlighting the Indian community’s influence in U.S. politics, prominent American leaders, including former President Donald Trump and key Congressional figures, will also be in attendance.
• After this, Modi will participate in an interactive session with U.S. Congressional members before heading to New York.

September 23

• Prime Minister Modi will take center stage by engaging in several important multilateral events in New York that kick off with the United Nations Climate Action Summit where he’ll spotlight India’s proactive measures in addressing climate change, demonstrating the country’s commitment to a sustainable future.
• Modi’s speech will highlight India’s leadership in climate action, particularly through the International Solar Alliance, while outlining the country’s expectations from the global community on climate issues.
