‘Operation Sadbhav’: India extends US$ 1 million humanitarian aid for Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos following Typhoon Yagi”

Operation Sadbhav, initiated by the Government of India, is a key initiative providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to countries affected by Typhoon Yagi. As part of this operation, India has delivered crucial humanitarian aid to the Government of Vietnam, focusing on disaster relief efforts in northern Vietnam, which sustained severe damage from the typhoon. A special aircraft has airlifted 35 tons of essential supplies to Vietnam, including water purification equipment, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, and solar lanterns. This aid underscores the strong Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Vietnam, reflecting their collaborative approach to disaster response. Following the disaster, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi expressed his sympathies and solidarity to Vietnam’s Prime Minister H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar extended condolences to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Bui Thanh Son, highlighting India’s commitment to international disaster support and diplomatic solidarity....
